October 2003 Santa Ana Winds:
A strong pressure gradient was present over southern California in October 2003 and consequently led to strong Santa Ana winds. These
windstorms fueled forest fires that raged out of control. Note the high pressure over the Great Basin and the lower pressure to the southwest.
