Infrared Satellite Imagery & Wind Shear -
The animation of infrared satellite data over the Atlantic taken during Hurricane Isaac (2000) shows the category 4 hurricane is drifting northward
toward a jetstream that originated at higher latitudes. The jetstream, which is characterized by strong wind shear, quickly tears at the hurricane,
disrupting its circulation and causing its central pressure to rise.
