Probability of Significant Hail (Diameter 2 in. or Larger):
An animation of the percent probability of having hail 2 inches or larger in diameter within 25 miles of a
point on a particular day shows that the most significant hail occurs in the southern Plains early in the thunderstorm
season and migrates northward to the Central and Northern Plains later in spring and summer.
