| Online 13.1: Shore-Parallel Snowband on Doppler Radar:
A shore-parallel band of lake effect snow developed during the winter of 1996 over the southern portion of Lake Michigan. Doppler radar shows this band of heavy snow as bright colors (yellow, red) on the reflectivity shown in the animation. Note the localized nature of the snowband and its slow migration eastward.
