The 850mb flow pattern during the animation shows air as cold
as -20° C wrapping around the
closed low circulation as the cyclone moved up the eastern seaboard. The trailing front associated with the
cyclone is present over the Atlantic Ocean and is identified by the strong temperature gradient south of the low.
