Cutoff Lows Visible Satellite Imagery During a Cutoff Low:
Visible satellite imagery from 22 to 25 May 2001 shows the persistent nature of a cutoff low pressure system over the upper Midwest. The linear structure of clouds rotating around the low pressure center indicates the presence of thunderstorms developing in afternoon in response to solar heating of the surface.
