The precipitation pattern during the strong low-pressure system of November 1998 can be seen in the
animation. Note the counterclockwise motion of the precipitation as the cyclone moves from west to east.
Heavier precipitation is indicated by the warmer colors (red, yellow). Winter-type precipitation is falling over the
North-Central States during this animation and the line of precipitation extending down to the Gulf Coast indicates
thunderstorms and rainfall found along a front.
